TORNEO INICIAL 2012
Torneo que puso fin a la secuencia Apertura-Clausura imperante en la última década. El torneo se desarrolló durante la última etapa del 2012 y los disputaron 20 equipos que jugaron todos contra todos a una ronda. Se incorporaron River Plate (campeón) y Quilmes (ganador del reducido) desde el Nacional B.

¿COMO LE FUE A LANUS?
Lanús finalizó el torneo en la 4° posición. Por Una extraña forma de contabilización de puntos (todos los partidos del 2012), pese a su buena posición, no pudo conseguir la clasificación a la Copa Libertadores 2013. Luego de un comienzo irregular, Lanus metió un racha de 7 partidos con victorias y peleó el título con Velez hasta la anteúltima fecha en la cual Velez le ganó a All Boys pero Lanús perdió con River Plate en el Monumental y cedió las chances.
Lanús no disputó otras competiciones durante el semestre. El goleador del equipo fue Silvio Romero (4 goles) Debutó durante el torneo: Andres SENA. Su DT a lo largo del torneo fue Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

El campeón del torneo fue Velez Sarfield (dirigido por Ricardo Gareca), siendo Newells Old Boys el subcampeón. Los primeros puestos definieron las clasificaciones para las competencias continentales. TORNEO FINAL 2013
El Final 2013 fue el torneo que cierra la temporada 2012/13 en la máxima categoría del fútbol argentino. Se desarrolló durante la primera etapa del 2013 y los disputaron 20 equipos que jugaron todos contra todos a una ronda que sirvieron de desquite de los partidos disputados durante el Inicial.

¿COMO LE FUE A LANUS?
Lanús finalizó el torneo en la 3° posición. Por la suma de puntos en la temporada se garantizó un lugar en la Copa Sudamericana 2013 junto a River, Racing Velez, Belgrano y San Lorenzo. Fue puntero del torneo por espacio de 10 fechas, y nunca bajó mas allá del tercer puesto. Compitió mano a mano con el campeón Newells y desde atrás con River Plate. Tuvo infinidad de chances de campeonar pero perdió y empató partidos claves.

El goleador del equipo fue Silvio Romero (9 goles) Debutaron durante el torneo: Jorge VIDAL CHAMORRO, Luis HERRERA, Nicolas PASQUINI.
El DT a lo largo del torneo fue Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
Por la fecha 17° recordaremos aquella visita al Estadio Único de La Plata, donde la gente de Lanús fue emboscada por la Policía de la Provincia y como consecuencia de la represión sufrida perdió la vida un hincha, y muchos resultaron heridos.
SINTESIS DEL TORNEO
El campeón fue el Club Atlético Newell’s Old Boys de Gerardo Martino, por sexta vez en su historia. El subcampeón fue Velez Sarfield. El torneo es recordado por el descenso de Independiente a la B Nacional, tras 101 años ininterrumpidos en la Primera División.
Los goleadores del torneo fueron Emanuel Gigliotti (Colón de Santa Fe) e Ignacio Scocco (Newells) con 11 goles.
Los descensos fueron para Unión de Santa Fe, Independiente y San Martin de San Juan.
